Question: Where do I go to find meaning and purpose in life? Why am I looking for meaning and purpose? Some people want to find meaning to life and others seem to go through life without looking for meaning and they are fine. Why am I asking myself this question of meaning? Why am I having so much difficulty finding peace? This actually started when I tried applying for law school scholarships for women and wasn’t accepted in any. I was just extremely devastated. What separates those of us who seek meaning from those who don’t? If you’ve looked for meaning and purpose where did you find it?
Answer: The question should not be “where” but “who”? God. He created us with a desire to find out the true meaning of life and it’s purpose. It is He that can give you the peace you seek. He is only a prayer away, and prayer is us talking to God, so try to talk, seek and find. Don’t look for the meaning and purpose of life itself. Look for eternal life. Then, you will find meaning and purpose. When you die, you will be judged according to the law. And someone will pay the fine.
But beyond this, life has to go on. You need to continue to improve yourself. So what if you didn’t get that scholarship? There are still other college grants for women out there that you could apply for. Or if not, get a job or two which can help you shoulder your education. How about your parents? You can’t do it alone you know. Maybe you could ask for a little assistance. I’m sure they would do what they can to help you in their own little way. Life is never easy. So you have to be as patient and as determined as you can.
